FoDDC upgrades parking pay and display machines across the district
Parking in the Forest of Dean is about to become quicker and easier, thanks to upgrades being carried out across all Forest of Dean Council-owned car parks over the next few weeks.
The existing pay and display machines will be modified to include a contactless payment option, giving residents and visitors greater flexibility when paying for parking. Motorists will be able to choose whether to pay by contactless at the machine, by cash, or by using their mobile phone.
The roll out of these improvements will start across the district from today.
All Forest of Dean District Council-owned car parks will still offer the first hour of parking free of charge.
Cabinet Member for Property and Projects, Cllr Sid Phelps said:
“I am really pleased these upgrades are now underway in our car parks across the district.
“The addition of contactless payments to our pay and display parking machines will improve convenience and offer motorists a wider variety of ways to pay for their parking via cash, card or mobile phone.”
