Councillor Dave Tradgett appointed Cabinet Member for Property and Projects

Councillor Dave Tradgett said:   

“I would like to offer my thanks to Councillor Phelps for his contribution as a Cabinet Member here at Forest of Dean District Council. He has worked tirelessly for his local ward and for the wider Forest of Dean and I know that he will continue to do so as a District Councillor for Lydbrook. 

“I’m honoured to take on the job of Cabinet Member for Property and Projects and look forward to working closely with fellow members; and indeed, all officers and staff to ensure we maintain continuity and provide the best service possible to our residents.”    

Councillor Sid Phelps said: 

“I was incredibly pleased to accept the position of Cabinet Member for Property and Projects and have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the role. I’m proud of the progress that has been made on many projects, particularly the ambitious new leisure facilities being constructed at Five Acres, and I look forward to construction beginning very soon.  

“However, at this present time I feel it is right for me to take a step back and focus on other commitments within my life.  

“I’m delighted that Councillor Tradgett has accepted the position and have no doubt that he’ll carry out the role dutifully. Furthermore, I remain fully committed to continue delivering for Lydbrook and the wider Forest of Dean in my role as a District Councillor.”  

Councillor Phelps will continue to serve as a District Councillor for his ward of Lydbrook, with Councillor Dave Tradgett taking on the role of Cabinet Member for Property and Projects, as well as a District Councillor for Longhope and Huntley.
