Forty four affordable homes delivered in Sedbury
The final 12 affordable homes have been completed at the Wyedean Fields housing development in Sedbury.
Legal & General, a registered provider partner of Forest of Dean District Council recently took handover of the 12 homes, which are located on the Wyedean Fields mixed residential development.
Out of the 110 homes built on the site, 44 have been provided as affordable homes, with 31 for affordable rent and the remaining 13 as shared ownership homes to help people on to the housing ladder.
Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr Claire Vaughan, said,
“It is one of our key priorities that new housing developments across the district meet the needs of residents in each area.
“Wyedean Fields in Sedbury is a good example of this, with 40% of the total homes either being made available for affordable rent or shared ownership.
“At a time when house prices are increasing and the cost of living is increasing, it is vital that we continue to help deliver more affordable housing in the Forest of Dean where possible.
“I would also encourage people to give their views on future housing provision during the Our Plan consultation which started on Monday 1 August.”
Developed by Barratt Homes, the 44 homes will comprise a mix of one-bed flats, two-bed houses through to large four-bed family homes.
