Have your say: Council invites feedback on 2026/27 Budget plans
Residents, businesses, and organisations across the district are urged to give their thoughts on Forest of Dean District Council’s spending plans, with a consultation for the budget for the next financial year beginning 19 December 2026 and running until 16 January 2026.
Cabinet Member for Finance, Councillor Andy Moore, said:
“As a council, we are facing significant cuts to our budget year-on-year. Though these Government reductions continue, we remain fully committed to delivering high-quality services and opportunities for our communities.
“Despite these financial challenges, our proposed budget will continue to look for innovative ways to tackle the climate emergency, help businesses and communities across the district to strengthen, and provide opportunities for local community groups to grow and develop. We also remain committed to supporting essential teams such as our street wardens, whose work is vital in keeping our communities safe, welcoming, and well cared for.
“This consultation is your opportunity to have your say on the proposed budget for 2026/27. We encourage all residents to visit our website to find out more and share their views.”

Alongside its core services, the Council is continuing progress with its ambitious regeneration projects.
