Forest of Dean District Council has recently granted Cinderford-based construction school, AccXel, £20,000 of the council’s Shared-Prosperity funding for them to deliver free digital skills training courses for residents.

The Forest of Dean District Council has received £199,853 of funding to install thirty-three electric vehicle charging points across the district in council-owned car parks.

At a meeting for Cabinet Members on 16 May 2023, Councillors have agreed to proceed with the new local plan strategy for the Forest of Dean - Our Plan. The decision means that it will now be heard at the Full Council meeting to be held on 30 May 2024 and if approved, will then go out to consultation with the public. 

The Forest of Dean District Council is offering not-for-profit voluntary and community groups the opportunity to apply for one off funding to help develop and support the forest's thriving community.

Forest of Dean District Council and partners including the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) are working with Forest Community Energy (FCE) volunteers to help people access support to reduce their energy bills and carbon emissions.
