Seventeen local organisations are set to receive £19,800 in community grants from Forest of Dean District Council to help boost their community engagement and the services they deliver.

Over £188,000 has gone to those in need in the Forest of Dean via Household Support Fund

Forest of Dean District Council has distributed over £188,000 on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions via the Household Support Fund. The fund gives residents who are most in need a little extra help to make sure they have enough healthy food and other essential supplies as the cost of living continues to rise.

We have been provided with Gloucestershire Rural Community Council’s (GRCC) report on the recent consultation activity undertaken in respect of the Five Acres site. GRCC were commissioned by the project Design Consultants, Pick Everard (PE), to undertake the consultation, a key strand of the work that PE have been asked to complete. Looking at that report and the comments made by individuals and organisations it is clear that while we can have confidence that the proposals we are working on are sound and in line with community aspirations. It’s clear also that the community retain their wider ambitions for the site outside of the initial Levelling up funding and programme.

Forest of Dean residents are being urged to check their electoral registration details, or risk losing their chance to vote on decisions that affect them as the Council starts its Annual Canvass to check everyone's voting details are up to date.

Today (Friday 12 August 2022), Graham Wildin has been committed to prison for six weeks for contempt of court as a result following a case brought against him by Forest of Dean District Council. He was taken to prison directly from court.

A Forest of Dean resident has been prosecuted for breaching a Community Protection Notice, after repeatedly allowing their dogs to stray from the property, resulting in them defecating on local residents gardens and driveways.
