Forest of Dean District Council are launching Facebook Live Q&A Sessions - the first broadcast will be on 22nd of June, 6pm. The first programme will be hosted by Councillor Tim Gwilliam and Head of Paid Service, Peter Williams. 

While the reopening of the economy continues, Forest of Dean District Council officers are continuing to work with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to call and visit local businesses with the team offering help and advice on the safest operating procedures.

The Forest of Dean District Council is taking action to tackle the ecological emergency by changing its current land management practices in the district as part of a pilot project that will be expanded to other areas if successful.

Details have been released for the bid for £20m to the Government’s Levelling Up Fund being pulled together by Forest of Dean District Council, Hartpury University and Hartpury College and Cinderford Town Council.

If successful the bid would aim to improve leisure facilities, introduce new education opportunities, repurpose vacant buildings and grow the local economy across the Forest.

As the local elections approach on the 6 May 2021, Forest of Dean District Council is preparing to make sure all the polling stations available for those who wish to vote in person are safe and Covid secure. 

On 12 April 2021 the Forest of Dean’s leisure centres, operated by Freedom Leisure, reopened successfully. Residents can now enjoy the services on offer and return to exercise in the centres. 

Forest of Dean District Council’s Cabinet sat on 08 April to discuss mitigation of flooding in the area. In recent years flooding in the district has increased, putting communities and businesses at risk. 

Forest of Dean District Council is asking the local community to submit their ideas for consideration as part of the submission to Central Government for the Levelling Up Fund.
